Lead UX Designer
I worked on Hyp3r during the stealth state to help the founders design and launch Hip3r's first Desktop app, followed by an iOS mobile app and AppleWatch app.

Project challenges
Building this new app with a tight deadline, a small team, and Social Media API complexities presents several challenges. A condensed timeline requires fast planning and efficient execution, demanding highly coordinated efforts.
Integrating Social Media APIs was one of the most significant challenges as it influenced the app's overall direction.
The small team size was also a challenge, but at the same, it made our team productive and hands-on. We worked around the clock, maintained effective communication, and leveraged each member's strengths.
Additionally, testing the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with hospitality businesses introduces the need for thorough user testing to serve a diverse industry.

Building A User Journey
Realizing the urgency imposed by our short timeline, we swiftly created a rough user flow to expedite the development process and keep the entire team in a mutual understanding.
After several iterations, we collectively landed on this user flow as the final one to cover all the "must haves" for our MVP to hit all the targets needed.
By prioritizing essential features and functionalities, we optimized the user experience to focus on core aspects aligned with our project goals. We continue to face challenges with the social API (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) weekly, making it very difficult to finalize high-fidelity designs.

Social Cards Concepts
One of the essential features was creating "Social Cards" that would allow the product to display social media information and highlight data that matched each type. I explored options to strike a balance between functionality and user familiarity. We use industry standards and design a layout and visual elements to create a card that resonates with the known patterns in social media.
This was still challenging as the social media API access changed weekly, making it difficult to stick to design directions.

Social Cards In Dashboard
Once we could stick to a promising "Social Card" design, we explored options to get a sense of what the cards could look like in a dashboard as a feed where a user could access multiple posts and follow engagement.

Hyp3r Dashboard
Within three months, design and engineering came together to deliver a fully functioning app beyond an MVP. We could onboard customers locally and throughout the USA who found value in our offering.
Our users well perceived the design of the desktop app and the value proposition of a tool that could help businesses readily engage with their audience in real-time was a success.
Our team was also able to spin builds to offer support for iOS mobile and Apple watch shortly after.
Overall, this product was highly challenging to build. I found the opportunity to work closely with engineering daily extremely valuable. I also learned a lot about API and the complexity behind what is offered for each one.
